Alkarama for Human Rights is seeking to hire a
Jurist
For a project aiming at defending the victims of the financial sanctions made in the context of counter-terrorism measures. Specifically this concerns financial sanctions made by the UN Security Council, United States Treasury Office, UK HM Treasury and the Council of the European Union.

Requirements
- University qualification in law;
- A minimum of 5 years experience as a barrister or a jurist;
- Interest in human rights law;
- Languages required: Arabic and English. Knowledge of French is welcome.
Competence in research and analytical skills; - Competence in drafting communications, reports and submissions;
- Ability to conduct projects independently and to meet the deadlines;
- Ability to work within a team and to supervise staff, particularly in a multicultural environment;
- The knowledge of counter-terrorism legislations and measures, their environments and their political, social, economic and cultural consequences is an asset.
Role and responsibilities
- Maintain a working and advising relation with the organisations and individuals concerned;
- Make working visits to concerned institutions;
- Collect the necessary information and make an analysis of the situation;
- Develop a strategy integrating the legal, political and media dimensions;
- Develop and implement an appropriate action plan;
- Coordinate and collaborate with other partners (NGOs, law offices, institutions, media, etc.);
- Supervise assistants and interns;
- Draft official letters, legal submissions, reports and press releases;
- Organise and moderate seminars, workshops and press conferences;
